First phone call from creditor

Hi

Decided to do my own dmp with the advice off here, stopped making payments a couple of weeks ago to my debts.

Just received my first phone call from Marks and Spencer credit card, assuming they are wondering why I've not paid this month's bill.

I didn't answer, I could do with a stiff drink to get me through all this. Do I just hold fire, don't answer or reply until I get the default letters through the post and that's when I contact them with my budget and an offer of what I can pay?

Just looking for confirmation I'm doing the right thing.

Thank you

Yes just ignore them until they default, block their number if you can. You want them to default you so you can get on with repaying the debt, contacting them will just delay that.
  • You must ignore phone calls, texts and E Mails, as Rob says block all numbers you can but do read any letters you get through snail mail.

Nothing will happen quickly, just don't panic and don't get upset.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.
  • I really appreciate your advice it's put me at ease. Thank you
