Warning - Sainsbury's substitutes promise for online orders

Just a heads up as I think not many people would expect this.
If Sainsbury's make a substitute to your online grocery order and you accept this, when it costs more, they they give you a voucher for the difference you paid. This voucher is only off online orders (and I think is automatic, maybe). This voucher EXPIRES in 2 MONTHS.
If you regularly shop online then not a problem but if you are just an occasional online shopper then clearly it is a problem and one many people would not expect, I didn't until I read the T&Cs. I would, and did, guess 12 months or more, hence this heads-up.

Yep, no idea why they don’t just do the same as Asda & Tesco and price match.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Agree it’s a pain. Also beware if the make substitutions within a meal deal. Recently they substituted a main course that wasn’t part of the deal so was charged full price for every item costing at least £6 more than the £12. I spotted it and they refunded me but easy to miss.Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

The thing that annoyed me is when I had a substitute for a more expensive item that was also half the size. (Think it was a fancy version of what I'd ordered) Now I put no substitutes on everything.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline.
