My first guess is scam but....
email or in the post? Do you recognise any of those companies?
I mean, I've heard of them all for various reasons but I've never heard of Money Wellness writing to anyone to say that debt collectors got together and complained about anyone.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. I do have debts with a couple of these, I have contacted Lowell as I'm not behind with any payments who have said there's absolutely no legal action against me, it just seemed legit the email1

I would suggest any email with the words "notify you of a matter of utmost importance" is 99.99% a scam.5

Also think its a scam. Hoping you are in good health is a phrase typical of a foreign scammer not a legitimate uk company3

I'm saying scam as it has all the hallmarks. There is no John Maxwell listed for their company at Companies house. They are a company but a company wouldn't be using Gmail. You recognise some of the names listed but not all - so they throw the lot out there with a hope that there will be one you identify withI trust this message finds you in good health. and a matter of utmost importance. This arent' the phrases used by UK institutions (or any) when there is a legal problemYou could contact them and ask on the correct addressThe address given is contactus@moneywellness.com. Post: Money Wellness, Think Park, Mosley Road, Trafford Park, Manchester. M17 1FQ. Phone: 0161 518 8285I've been getting texts puporting to be from the NHS recently. With the new online records thing, prescriptions ordered by phone, and so on it's new enough to read 'your NHS account is being closed' could hook some people in.A check with the surgery said they hadn't sent anything.Would be interested to know where they picked up my number because I keep it pretty private.

My advice its a scam, I have spoke with clients at work who have received similar emails. I work for a banks fraud prevention team, and have seen similar mails. The wording of the first sentence is the give away.
If a collections agency was contacting you even with new financial regulations ie the customer duty act that came in back in 2023 they wouldnt ask you that. The fact he gives his name is to try and gain trust.3
