NI underpayment

My former employer refused to pass on the 2% reduction in NI payments earlier this year, the company line was we pay you a set amount regardless of whether contributions go up or down, when I pointed out it was not there decision to make as the government reduced it as a cost of living help I was basically told tough we do it too all of our employees. Surely this cannot be correct

Depends what your employment of contract says, some out there will determine a set wage AFTER deductions. This type of arrangement is rare but I have seen it crop up on here before.
On the flipside, had NI contributions gone UP you would have been shielded from it.0 -
Yes it is perfectly legal and what you agreed to. A big thing in the world of nannies who are advised against doing it if possible.

I'd be surprised their payroll system can cope with it.
But it does depend on your contract0
