in Cutting tax
I recently received a P800 for 23/24, which said I owed tax for that year, due to a difference between actual and estimated BIK.
It said I could pay the amount online, so I did that, and received confirmation email.
I thought I'd check it was all up to date. Previously I'm sure after logging in, and then choosing PAYE, somewhere I could see a list of years. For example 23/24, you owe £xxx for this year, the previous few years listed as 'You paid the correct amount of tax for this year'
Today though, I can't seem to find that page. I can see each year separately , but not the list which says whether or not the correct tax was paid. Am I looking in the wrong place? I just wanted to see if 23/24 had been updated to 'You have paid the correct amount of tax for this year'

I don't know if it would say it quite like that.eastcorkram said:I recently received a P800 for 23/24, which said I owed tax for that year, due to a difference between actual and estimated BIK.

The P800 reflects tax deducted at source, it can't take into account tax you have paid direct to HMRC.
So it might say what you think but I suspect it will be different. Maybe you are underpaid £xxx but the ability to pay it won't exist. Or you are underpaid £xxx and you have paid £xxx.0 -
It wasn't on the P800. Is that the right thing? Like an end of year calculation? Anyway, where I saw that list of years, was online. I just wanted to see if it had now been updated , after I made that payment. But now I can't find that same list. Was wondering if it was somewhere else I'd seen it, but can't think where that would have been! Oh well, I'm sure it'll be ok. I paid the amount in full, and had confirmation email, so presume it's all good.0

Yes, I remember that too, but I can’t see it in the app. Perhaps HMRC have decided that the wording shouldn’t be there - in case something was missed and there’s another round of recalculation. It would still be useful to have confirmation that the P800 (or equivalent) has been raised and settled/payment arranged, as for most people that is closure for that year.eastcorkram said:

I've found ‘You paid the right amount of tax’. It’s not in the HMRC app, but on the front page of the Personal Tax Account (which I rarely use). There is a box for last tax year and the year before. I can see the message for 2022/23 but my tax has not yet been calculated for 2023/24.eastcorkram said:I recently received a P800 for 23/24, which said I owed tax for that year, due to a difference between actual and estimated BIK.
