You have an enourmous amount of debt , 2 children and no life insurance ?

If things are bad now what would that look like if something happened.

    Get some life insurance.
  • Resign yourself to the fact it's taken you a few years to build up the debt,  it's going to take a few to pay it back, there's no quick fix or magic wand gonna do it for you.

Cut up all the cards you can, remove the rest from your wallets (real and virtual!) and uncache cards from websites you use too much  - this will go some way to stop impulse sspending. You also need to properly review your spending on all your cards the last 6-12 months to get a better handle on your SOA.

I'd run a debt snowball calculator by APR and even if you take half your "surplus'  cash as extra payments to debt making sure you pay all the others minimum you'd have a couple of debts gone in 3 months, as each debt clears, you will feel accomplished, I promise!

    Good luck!

  • What'sthecost.com website or debt payoff planner app are both good ones to have a play around with your numbers to see what order you want to pay off debts. A quick win to start you off then either smallest to largest, interest high to low or whatever order suits your circumstances at the time.  And revisit it every so often as things can change. Another tip is to ignore the big number and break it down. Could you aim to pay 10%of the debt of by such a date for example. Makes it far less pressure if you set yourself a mini target as you go along! Good luck with it all
