Hello all. Please bear with me as It's quite over whelming at the mo.
We sold our property. We have put an offer in for the place we would like to purchase. All was accepted. We have had a survey done. The surveyor has pulled a few big things. It's been 8 weeks or so for the seller to provide any paper work, certificates etc... and we were told yesterday that we would have to wait until after Xmas for them to now produce. Everyone else in the chain has provided everything. Is this normal ? Thank you

So, I think you're saying...
- You have accepted an offer to sell your current property.
- You have had an offer accepted on a property that you want to buy - and you've had a survey done on it
But your seller wants to delay starting the conveyancing (the legal stuff) until after Christmas.
Who told you about this delay? Was it the estate agent?
Did they explain why the seller wants to delay the conveyancing?
Sometimes people prefer not to start conveyancing until the chain above them is complete. Could that be the case here? Do you know if the upward chain is complete? Or is there another reason?
The seller's estate agent should be able to answer these types of questions. They should be keeping in touch with the seller, and discussing this kind of thing with them.
