Mortgage cleared told to contact solicitor

Hi so in Scotland and just cleared my mortgage and received a letter to confirm this, but at the bottom of the letter they state the following.
Ask a solicitor to remove our charge- so it won’t hold up any future sale.
i will not be moving or selling this home, so any help with the above?

The above gives the basic instructions on how to remove the charge with or without a solicitor.
If you intend to be there until you die you could just leave it as a problem for your executors. It can be a headache if you leave it more than 6-7 years as if there is something wrong with the paperwork provided the lender may not retain records for longer than that.
We had someone call us up as they found we had a charge on the property from over a decade ago and was difficult to get someone to agree that we should release it as the records of why there was a charge and if the need for the charge had been removed were lost to time0 -
