Hi all, I’ll try and make this as short as possible.

Basically a few months ago, I signed up to a free trial on a website called c-date.  It wasnt long before I realised the whole website was a scam (full of bots, and reading trustpilot reviews confirmed this) I tried to locate  how I cancelled my subscription, however it was almost mpossible to find out how. (Turns out you need to be logged out and the option to cancel is on the homepage, it isnt there if you are logged in).

After being unable to cancel, in time I was charged £39.99, understandably upset with this I did a changeback through my bank. Then they got in touch with me asking me to reverse the chargeback or they would send me a further invoice with added charges on. Because I hadnt cancelled correctly. was t the way to cancel, I contacted my bank and they wouldn’t reverse it unless c-date disputed it. Which they didn’t,

nect thing is 2 moths later, I have today recieved a letter in the post from CMS debt collection based in Germany as the debt is now £81 (I’m not sure how they got my address)

Firstly, can they enforce this? I have read lots of people in the same boat who say to ignore it and they will go away. Any advice would be appreciated, the whole site is a scam

    I agree with that advice.

It's clearly a scam but if they are based in Germany I'm not sure how you would report them.

Debts from abroad such as this, never see the light of day in the UK.

Sending a letter is cheap, and the wording is designed to "encourage" you to pay or suffer the dire consequences.

In every instance the "dire consequences" would be perhaps another letter, and then they will move on to the next person, and it will all just go away.

Its nothing whatsoever to worry about, and you can safely ignore such requests.

Hey! The exact same thing has happened to me. I have told them to take me to court but they keep giving me opportunities to pay. My bill is now £308 from £39.99......they write to me every moth, threatening me...

I have replied to them three times and told them I am not going to pay so they'd better take me to court. They just keep replying that court is the last resort....
