CGT again: "details of computations of gains and losses"

I'm helping a friend with the SA forms 23/24. She has sales of ~£20,000, gains of £6,068 (so just above the £6,000 exempt amount) and losses of a bit more than £2,000, so no CGT is due but we still have to give HMRC details about the sales, 16 in number, most small. So far we have had only two or three sales for CGT and filled in the SA CGT worksheet... but for 16 that's a lot of typing. We can instead send our calculations as a PDF... but what exactly wants HMRC to see? We have all the information that would be required for filling the SA CGT worksheet as an Excel table... is that enough? The SA108 notes helpfully say:
• details of computations of gains and lossesbut nothing more detailed. Thanks for hints or pointers!

Do you have to actually 'send' anything? I always assumed that the worksheet (or your own Excel file) were merely evidence if HMRC come back and ask for more information.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

I assume the Excel spreadsheet has all the information you would have put into the worksheet laid out in the same way as the worksheet. Can you turn it into a pdf? If so then send that.
I don't know what happens if you tick the box saying you are going to attach your own workings and then don't bother but I wouldn't do it myself.0 -

Thanks, guys, I appreciate this.
In the past it was only two or three items for CGT and for these we simply used the SA Capital gain computation worksheet directly on the HMRC site (which has a limit of twenty items). But this is clumsy, especially for 16 items. So we filled in all the totals HMRC wanted to know and in the end they asked for a PDF with the calculations. And I can't finish this part of SA without either uploading this or filling a text box with explanations as there's a menacing red error box
