CGT form query

Options
Hi all

a few years ago my husband and I sold a cottage which we owned and had been letting out as a holiday let. When we completed the sale our solicitor emphasised that we should both fill in CGT forms asap even though we had not made a capital gain on the sale.  We subsequently bought another property and have just sold it, again not making a capital gain.  Our solicitor for this sale (a different one to the one we used last time) has not mentioned CGT at all.  On looking at the HMRC website it says we do not need to fill CGT forms if we have not made a gain (screenshot below).  Can anyone confirm for me that this is correct - have the rules changed?  I tried calling HMRC but gave up after being on hold for hours.  Thanks

Nice to save.
