Hi all, thank you so much for your lovely posts regarding my mum.

It's been very tough - the doctor recommended a bereavement course to me, which I started last week. It runs for 8 weeks and I hope will be helpful. I was sat next to another lady who had lost her mum just a couple of days before me. Then there was a lady there whose sister died 5 years ago but she was still struggling. Most of the others were people who had lost spouses, which made me realise that it could be helpful for my dad when he is ready. My sleep has been terrible. Not helped by drinking more alcohol that I usually would. It's become a bit of a habit over the weekends and a couple of times a week, so i've got some different flavoured fizzy waters to try during the evenings.

I have still been making an effort to check in with my banking apps - albeit not daily but enough to keep control of it. I need to update my signature as my debt is now down to £6,982.25.

I've gone back to work now, although as it's a family business the arrangements are flexible and I can work from home if I need to. My husband is naturally understanding of the situation. I find if I stay home I tend to be very unproductive both in terms of work and housework and end up watching tv on the sofa! I know that's what I need to do sometimes perhaps, but of course the lack of routine and general messiness then increases my anxiety and makes it even harder for me to relax. I am aiming to get on top of that this week.

Thank you again - I will have a catch up on other's diaries now!

    MBNA: Jan 2025 =£10,413.25, Feb 2026 =£0
    HSBC Loan: Jan 2025 £15,156.57, Feb 2026 =£8,982.25

    Total: Jan 2025= £27,688.27, March 2026 = £7,982.25
