How do you even get a quote for solar?

Emailed 5 companies, asking what make and type of panel they install.

3 didn't even bother replying. 2 did reply that they'd bring the info along when they quoted.

Replied to the 2 saying fine, but I won't be signing on the day as I have to do my own research on their info... neither replied...

I'm in Bristol. 3 of the companies were national and 2 were local.

Do installers just expect people to blindly sign after hearing their sales pitch?

Regrettably, this is the sad state of the UK PV industry. I've helped several dozen MSE forum members with their PV installations, all pro bono, precisely because of this total lack of credibility and extremely low end components on offer. 

Feel free to DM me and I will make sure that 1 of the 3 installers I use will get back to you with a quote followed by a phone call and an in person survey. This is the bare minimum level of service any installer should offer!

I had 4 reps visit and made my choice, the others emailed me to follow up and I told them I'd gone elsewhere. They are pushy because they are on commission, but if they can't answer my questions that puts me off
