parking ticket and dodgy ticket attendant..

can you help. we seem to have come accross one of these dodgy parking attendants who gives you a ticket even when you are still in credit on the machine. we have written in explaining the situation. The answer we got back is that we put money in the wrong meter . however this is not the case as the meter was right by the car. I find it difficult to believe that a meter just by the car does not cover that parking bay and one on another road that parking bay.
We are writing again to explain this but they are saying if we do not pay within 2 weeks the bill will go from £50 to £100. the last time we wrote to them it took them 2 months to write back to us!
any ideas? i do know also that once you pay you do not get your money back either!

you go to the related site to sort things out at ticketbusters.co.uk> Will write them a letter to Westminster council anyway. does say if you write promptly is taken into consideration anyway. It will cause them more grief to deal with loads of letters anyway so we'll see.
