Warranty complaint?

Hi,
Im not sure if this is in the right place?? If not could you move it??
I brought a monitor for my PC with an extended warranty for 3 years; it is an onsite warranty.
I have tried numerous times to get the problem recitifed, but they have never been "on site" to fix it?
Ive sent it off to them once and it returned un fixed, they are refusing to come to site; where do I stand, how would I go about report them to trading standards??
Thanks in Advance
Andrew

How old is the unit?
How many times has a repair been attempted?
If more than one were they different symptoms?
What was the 'repair' that wasn't?
From where did you purchase the monitor?
Do you have documentation to confirm an 'onsite' warranty?0 -
Hi thanks for our post
The Monitor is about 1yr and 6mths at most.
It’s the same problems a lot of the pixels seem to be fading and just show as white.
They took it away and sent it back I had to phone them to find out what was wrong, to which they replied they couldn't find a fault.
I purchased it through tiscali ISP on the internet. Its made by a company called "Digimate", I know there rubbish but only brought it becuse I knew it would be covered for 3 yrs.
Im not sure if I have the documentation, when I sent it to them, I sent it in the original box, with the instructions in it, I never got any of this back:mad: ; I’m not sure if it was in there.
On there website when I login, it states the warranty type as "on Site"
Thanks Again0 -
Hi again,
Are you sure the monitor is faulty?
Have you tried it (with the same lead) on another pc? Also, are you able to try a different lead? I suggest if not done so already then ascertain it is definitely the monitor at fault else the next problem you'll find is that they will want to charge you for 'no fault found'!
When 100% certain is faulty dig out proof of purchase and contact Tiscali advising them that you require the service for which they as the retailer guaranteed under the Sale of Goods Act and have never provided. Due to its age it would now be under the manufacturers/distributers warranty however, as it is an ongoing problem and you can prove (?) the symptom occurred within the first 12 months then Tiscali should rectify the situation as they have not done so within the time frame required of them and they certainly cannot pass liability on through what might be deemed as their negligence.0 -
Hi,
Thanks again,
I have got another monitor, which I am using without any problems, so i know there is a fault with this particular one.0 -
I have to say that my experience with Digimate has been good. When my monitor failed last year, still within the 3 yr guarantee they arranged for it to be collected by courier. I consequently learned that it wasn't to be repaired but replaced. I did have to wait about 5 weeks for them to get new supplies of the superceded monitor in, but ended up with a new one.
Have you spoken to them on the phone, only I did find them quite helpful when I rang when mine first conked out?The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

Or, as cattie points out, you could forget all the pfaffing about and contact Digimate customer Services direct!
Try to speak with as senior person as possible and have a list of the transpired events in chronological order.
Good luck.0 -
I bought a Digimate L-2041 from Overclockers and it failed after 5 months, I contacted Digimate as it was advertised wit an onsite warranty, they said they would get it collected and returned to them for repair/replacement which could take up to 7 days. When I pointed out that it had an onsite warranty they said that onsite depended on your point of view, as it was being repaired on "their site" it counted as onsite warranty. Overclockers supported this by saying that it was an "onsite collect and return warranty"!!
I found my warranty card which states "onsite swap service" but they are still refusing to perform this saying that they will collect it and check it before repairing/swapping. I have yet to speak again to Overclockers but don't expect to get anywhere with this.0 -

Repairing on "their site" means the same as "return to base". They are clearly in breach of the terms and conditions of the warranty if they do not honour these terms and conditions."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
