And once the sexual harassment case is actioned by HR, the problem about having the wrong pay goes awayDRS1 said:Find out who at your employer is responsible for doing the reporting to HMRC and take them out to lunch.

Yes, the company operates all over the world with 2,000+ employees. I have been an employee for almost 13 years.uknick said:OP, is your company big enough to employ a proper payroll section? I ask because I'm staggered a payroll section, whose job it is to do this correctly, have been unable to correct it for over 4 years.
Plus, as every higher rate taxpayer in your company, including the bosses, will be suffering I'm surprised pressure hasn't been bought to bear to make them get it right.
I can only assume that there is a financial implication some how that is stopping them from rectifying this. Would be nice for someone who operates in payroll to come accross this thread and shed some light.
Or even Martin Lewis himself 😅0 -
The only person who can shed light is the person at your employer doing the reporting to HMRC. That's why I said you should find out who they are and talk to them (OK don't invite them to lunch if that is non PC these days). Anyone on here cannot give you the right answer because they do not do the payroll at your employer.Beaumont176 said:

If someone doesn't answer the email phone them or go to their office.Beaumont176 said:

If they are not in your building raise it with the highest paid most important person you know and get them to raise it with someone higher up the chain.
Speak to someone - they will find it more difficult to ignore you.0 -

Employment Tribunal or Pensions Ombudsman?

What I'm struggling with is the concept that all higher rate taxpayers must be affected by this, and apart from you and another you mention, nobody seems to care they're, in effect, having money stolen from them.0 -
It's usually possible to find out their line manager via the email system or done other means.Beaumont176 said:

If the same person failed to respond to me three times, I'd be directly contracting their line manager and say I've not had any response which is clearly unacceptable. As long as you are factual and rational, you are perfectly entitled to flag issues with employees related to their performance in role, and it is their manager's duty to listen and rake appropriate action. Blanking another employee is a performance issue which does need addressing.
I think there is a strong possibility you have misunderstood the mechanism of tex relief as a company that size should have someone experienced in payroll.
And there will be plenty of other employees who understand how it works. The more senior ones would have certainly kicked up a fuss.
But they should be able to give you a polite and concise explanation of how the pension scheme operates. Most large employers will have this preprepared."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0
