Petition for UK phone companies to filter potential scam calls by default

Following on from my recent post about who is responsible for allowing many scams to operate
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6570291/the-real-scam-about-why-so-many-folks-are-being-scammed I have started a petition to help stop this modern scourge at source i.e. when the potential victim receives a call from an unknown or unverified source.

Nuisance call blockers are established solutions that work well to filter out 'robocalls' but still allow through valid calls from those withholding their numbers or from unknown numbers. Several are described at  https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/cordless-phones/article/how-to-block-nuisance-calls-aHkHz1m7wCes#blocking-calls-using-your-home-phone-provider

The issue is that those who most need this solution are not using it, either through non-availability, charges or simple lack of awareness.

Please consider signing it for all those who are not being reached by this service and who deserve a life without interruptions from potential scammers.

The move to full fibre to the premises and IP telephones in the next couple of years largely deals with this issue

BT Call Protect is available on all line types now, it doesn't require migrating to Digital Voice.
However it's an opt-in service, so many customers are missing out.

Not all service providers offer call screening now, and folks are receiving a lot of scam calls now.

(Aside, many elderly customers are exempted from being currently migrated to Digital Voice because of legacy emergency alarm systems. I know some who have been migrated to DV and have encountered all sorts of issues - not being able to be called, odd ringing behaviour, calls being diverted after just a few rings. One endured multiple OpenReach visits, with each engineer not knowing the history. They were exhausted by the ordeal. One would have hoped that the kinks would have been worked out by now.)

At the end of the day, irrespective of line type, the nuisance call blocker devices are available now and could help save huge amounts of fraud. They just need enabling by default.
