My father has been asked to provide a copy of his Pension Statement, but trying to get a hold of it is turning into a nightmare, with multiple phone calls to various departments - can anyone advise how I can get a hold of his Pension Statement?

@molerat
Above implies there are more than one - in short my father has submitted some government forms and they have asked for some evidence related to income and have asked for a copy of the Pension Statement.Date of Update – 08/04/19

I think what Molerat is asking is more detail - local government pension, state pension, employer pension, SIPP?
What kind of pension are we talking about? You’ll get more help if you are a bit more specific.0 -
Private pensions - he should get a P60 from the pension payer each year.
State pension - he should get a letter each telling him of the annual increase and amounts payable.0 -
If it's state pension, then he can get the necessary information from his personal tax account https://www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account - although if these are government forms it's hard to see why whoever is on the receiving end can't check that information themself, which suggests it could be a private pension provider. Does he have any private (ie non-state) pensions actually in payment?Gurj247 said:@molerat

What exactly does the form say, since 'the Pension Statement' isn't a recognisable description for anything in particular?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Is this checking for amount of tax-free cash already used? ie does he have a DB in payment, and now wants to access another pension?

As well as the above clarifications about what exactly you're referring to, are you formally authorised to act on his behalf, via power of attorney or similar?Gurj247 said:My father has been asked to provide a copy of his Pension Statement, but trying to get a hold of it is turning into a nightmare, with multiple phone calls to various departments - can anyone advise how I can get a hold of his Pension Statement?0
