Front Partial dentures

Options
Good day to you all,

I have had my two front teeth replaced with partial dentures (No metal on the dentures)  coming up to a month soon but I'm having a couple of issues with them,

Firstly when I chew anything the denture is pressing into the gum making it painful to eat and I have to avoid chewing with the front teeth. I did go back to the dentist about this and he said that it would go in time and that the denture fits perfectly, however the problem still remains, is this normal or not?

Secondly, my tongue is really sore where my tongue keeps touching it constantly, again I am just wondering if this was normal too? as this is probably the worst out of the three issus as it is constantly painful.

Finally how long does it take to start talking properly as I have noticed I have a slight lisp when I'm talking? This is impacting me going out as I normally go out to football twice a week but I have stopped doing it as I am to aware of this and due to MH I take things straight to heart and do worry and get upsetting too easily but that's just a me problem l know.

Sorry for the questions just looking for some advice as my next dental appointment isn't until February.

TIA

Sadly, the forum rules forbid medical advice. All I can suggest is that you send the dentist a note asking for a telephone chat about the issues that you experienced. And maybe you can find information on an NHS web page or through the NHS 111 service.

My own experience: I have just come back from seeing my dentist to get my two front teeth replaced. My plan was to get partial dentures, but when I saw him he advised against them: he said that the pressure you experience as pain when eating also causes damage. So he persuaded me to get a bridge, which seems to be a good solution.

My dentist is in Poland, so the whole trip took about ten days and cost far less than seeing a dentist in England: probably less than £3,000 including everything.

If your denture is sore, then it's perfectly valid to go back to the dentist to have it adjusted. At that appointment you can discuss your other concerns and hopefully be reassured.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Do you remove the denture at night? Tried some "grip" to hold them tightly in place?
