Good evening, I have recently lost my job (no pay off) and of course trying to get a new one every day but there's only so much searching you can do and therefore I have spare time to try anything and everything online for some spare cash in the lead up to Xmas.
It doesn't matter how small the return really I will give it all a go to bring some pennies and hopefully pounds in. Where should I start first of all?!

you could try surveys that pay via gift cards. But frankly the return is very very low. I spent about an hour a day trying this and gave up after a month as I'd only earned about £15.
Selling via vinted or ebay might be better if you have things to sell. Some people get stuff in charity shops to sell on. Be aware that apparently you can now be charged income tax (so I'm told) once you have sold a total of £1k worth of goods. Good idea to keep a record of how much things cost so you can justify some of the sale price.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Also have you registered with a temp agency? They find short term job in anything from digging holes in the ground to computer programming. I worked for a temp agency for several years and was never out of work. If they say "Can you do X?" you just say " Yes of course I can"

I decided to go the employment agency route this year and signed up with 4 in the area ( 3 of them were mentioned while i was searching online as being the best ones to go for) However, I hve not heard a thing from any of them. I rung one of them and he just said 'we don't have anything Entry-Level at the moment.' Didn't make me feel great at all. I've also signed up with a mystery shopping site I saw on Money Magpie - it'll be a good one if it's mentioned on there - again, not heard anything but that was more recent so fingers crossed. Not sure what I'm doing wrong as employment agencies are generally highly spoken about.

The main survey place to try is Prolific, although I believe they have a waiting list which can vary from hours to a few months, depending on the demographics they're looking for at the time. For immediate earnings, quite a good place is Prime Opinion, which always has loads of surveys available on the site. The pay per survey is often low, but being an active member really helps to boost it because you can get bonuses for completing a 7-day streak and also for moving up through the levels. If you really work it hard you can also get points from the weekly contest, which are given to the top 999 on the leaderboard! On the one hand you might need around 2,500 points or more to get on it, but on the other hand of course it shows how many people do earn that amount in a week, and that's $25 or nearly £20.A downside is it might only pay effectively 1-2 pounds an hour, but it's something and adds up.1

I love Mistplay - if you've got a smartphone and free time then try it. I probably get £5 off my supermarket bill every fortnight and its just playing games.
And if you have lots of Christmas presents to buy keep looking in charity shops, occasionally you'll find something perfect that looks new.
I dislike Swagbucks, you might be OK if you've recently been spending money but for someone living frugally like me, the surveys are mostly not relevant, I'm not shopping through their marketplace, and it's difficult to get points from the games if you don't spend money to make the games go faster.

But there are other decent sites - Swagbucks (though definitely on the decline) has earnt me £30 this month, I spend about 15 minutes a day on it if that.
Ipsosisay has got me over £50 but Nov has been a double points month.
Qmee is ok, Curious Cat is ok, there is also Yougov and Ylive but you can only redeem those two at £50 so its a more medium term option.
But if you can maybe get £70 or £80 a month for the equivalent of 30-60 mins a day (if you've got spare time) then why not.0
