Bike shed for school

Dear all, talking with many parents at my local school we feel that children would be more encouraged to cycle to school if they had a proper bike shed in it where the bikes could be locked and protected. I heard about Councils giving grants to schools in order to do this. The school has not tried but I would like to know if anyone has some experience with this. I would like to asses how easy (or complicated) the process is and if it is worth applying (or asking my local school to apply). If anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate your insights. Thanks
