Lowell o2 fraudulent debt

I want happy with o2 as their practices triggered my autism, I made a complaint about how they treated me as an autistic person and we agreed I would pay the full remainder of the contract up front so I could not have to deal with them I could stop using o2. So I paid in full on my debt card for the reminder of the sim plan and they agreed I could return the handset. So I get a receipt for the payment and a receipt for the handset being returned. 3 months pass and o2 fraudulently claimed that I owed them for the call plan and headset despite I have proof I paid and they sold this debt straight to Lowell. Lowell did zero checks to confirm the legitimacy of the debt and I received no communications or letters from o2 to say I owned them anything, only a final letter that said the account was straight and I owned nothing.
the first I hear of this fraudulent debt was when Lowell started harassing me daily by call and email, despite showing Lowell proof I still receive harassing emails telling me I need to set up a payment plan. I complained to Lowell, I send them proof of the bills that were paid in advance.

I am not expert that is why I need advice.
1: o2 or Lowell I believe have impacted my credit file with this fraudulent debt but I can’t view my credit file as my passport expired and currently I can’t afford to renew my ID
2: I am pretty sure the debt is fraudulent and the fraud isn’t legal neither is Lowell acting legally trying to enforce it
3: I believe o2 did this in relation because I made a discrimination complaint.

O2 have confirmed on the phone that I owe them no money and that there is no debt.
i would like to know how I can report o2 and also Lowell because as I said the debt was non existent, they unlawfully sold a fraudulent debt and I have proof as I paid months in advance of any bills and paid the full 2 year contract in advance so there never was a debt, it was fabricated and possibly done out of malice, I can’t quite see how it could have been a mistake as the system would show there was no debt as the statements were issued from o2 showing the balance remaining was £0.00 and the handset that was returned showed as coming off of the account.

I’m wondering what my next steps are? I am very very upset that I was chased for a fictional debt (a fraudulent one) I am concerned what it’s done to my credit rating and credit file and I’m wondering if I should be reporting o2 or Lowell to action fraud as they are committing fraud against me.
any advice would be appreciated, I’ve had enough at how badly I’ve been treated over a debt I never had
thank you any advice is appreciated

If Lowell are the ones harassing you then your problem is with them.
The easiest way to deal with them is to ignore anything short of a preaction letter.
If you want to go the complaint route then you need to put your complaint in writing and after 8 weeks you can refer to FOS, sooner if Lowell actually respond.
I don't see why you can't get a free copy of your credit file. Try

02 are simply incompetent, as are a lot of the mobile service providers, there customer service skills are next to zero in many cases, and there ability to respond to complaints can be just as bad.
Putting that aside for now, your current issue, as fatbelly agrees, is with Lowell, and not 02.
You should make a formal written complaint, as stated above, and don`t forget to start the letter with the word "COMPLAINT" in large type letters.
Tell them what you have told us, include copies of your evidence that you owed 02 nothing, and just allow the complaints process to develop, you can always escalate the matter to the Financial Ombudsman service if you remain unhappy with Lowell's assessment of your complaint.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I will out everything in writing and get in to the post and even the SARS request I put in to Lowell has been ignored. So I’ll do it via letter and sent it special delivery and I’ll give them their 28
days or whenever and then I’ll go to the ombudsman and also the information commissioner as they abused my personal data:A0
