Thanks Beanie, Jwil, Jessy, KK, TK, Alchemilla, Watty, Lellybun, 4Seasons, Merlin, Lucielle, Dawn, Humdinger - and if I forgot anyone please forgive me!!
It was a small, intimate wedding barn with parents/step parents and a sibling present. My son's partner's family paid for my accommodation, most of the wedding and much of the food during the trip. That was a huge weight off my mind and aided my bank balance no end. I tried lobster for the first time - about an inch long - and that was enough for me... We went to an eclectic mix of sites - Space, Aquarium, Art, Beach etc so there was something for everyone. Meals ranged from typical US fare to Mexican and Italian. It was very rainy when we first arrived and that lasted a few days before clearing. I got to swim in the sea and in a pool. Will try at some point to share some photos of the trip. My sister contributed towards my travel between her house and the airport which was also very kind.
It was incredibly full on and I was with people 17-19 hours a day... So while 'lovely', very glad to get home for a rest and be by myself again. I'm sure I've created lots of wonderful memories and it was great to spend time with DS and his spouse. I felt I really bonded with one of the relatives in particular and there were offers of return trips even without DS which was very kind. Will see how that develops.
Safely home again. I got home after midnight. Spent today and a lot of yesterday catching up on sleep. It was nice to catch up with my sister and her family before and after the trip. Back at work tomorrow and I have to go in for a meeting first thing and then have meetings all day so wish me luck.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
