Royal mail pension or not

Options
In the early nineties I worked for Royal mail as a part time postman, for about a year.

I was employed direct, not agency.

I cannot remember anything at all about a pension, would I have been enrolled automatically, I moved areas after leaving and have no paperwork.

I wouldn't have opted out, anyone advise if new employees automatically joined the scheme?

If it was a year then you would have been refunded any contributions you might have made when you left their employment.

Hmmm don't remember that, but worth asking the question.

    Cheers
  • I used to work for RM, starting in the late 80's.

I was auto enrolled from my first day, but have heard of others who weren't.

I think taking a refund of contributions if you were in the scheme for less than 2 years, was an option. But I don't think it was an automatic thing.
