try geraldonline.com. I think this is owned by gerald ratner whos former jewellery company in the early nineties had problems after he famously said something about his products being total crap!
anyway his new company by all accounts is good value jewellery without the high st mark up. probably not the clearest diamonds in the world etc but you get what you pay for. I have a pair of diamond earrings from there and was very happy with them for the price.0 -

Hi,
Dont tell the wife you want 'cheap' - she will kill you
Anyway, we were living in cardiff at the time I bought my wife's and was after something specific as her engagement ring is quite big so needed something shaped to fit around it
found exactly what i wanted at pravins (only 3 shops in uk later found out - cardfif and 2 in london so quite exclusive)
they have a website www.pravins.co.uk. not long after she had it she fell and hurt her hand and as we found out in the process damaged a claw to the ring....took it into pravins and they repaired if free of charge
overall, not the cheapest, but by far the best customer service i have ever had
