1st time buyer

hi, I live in a housing exec house and someone called today asking if i was interested in buying it, which myself and my partner are going to do, because we've been paying rent for some time now and I don't think a mortgage would cost much more. I was wondering what these companies are like that say they do all the hard work for u? I do see the process as a lot of hassle but I know it will be worth it in the long run, I'm just not sure about how to go about it, would it be best to do it all ourselves or contact these ppl? I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to mention the company's name or not? :-/
