My BIL had a stroke 3 years back and another one nearly 1 year ago and the bleed was in same place as the 1st one so has had an op to repair/ strengthen the vessel.
The op was done at Queen's Square hospital London and he was told that MRI scans were needed twice a year to see if op worked.
He got a date for this for November and last the hospital called to change the date to December 20 at 4pm.
He got the letter and at the weekend was telling me about it and gave me the letter.
His scan is not in London but Epilepsy Centre Chalfont St Peter I think.
Nearest station Gerrards Cross or Chalfont and Latimer and then taxi or bus.
He will be travelling from Luton to St pan crass and then Marylebone to GC or Chalfont and Latimer.
He has a Two together card but that's with his Dad but not sure if he can as commitment that day and also traveling to/from London peak times fares are confusing to me.
Any advice on what tickets to buy would be a great help thanks

How would he feel if you suggested he get passenger assistance? I have vertigo and always request help when I'm travelling by train, they are marvellous.
I always used trainline for the best prices, then contact the individual railway companies to get the assistance.

I will have a look at Trainline.
As for Uber is it cheaper than local taxis at Gerrards Cross or nearby?0 -
I wonder if its worth catching the 321 bus from Luton to Watford then catching an Uber from there?
https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/find-a-service/321-luton-to-watfordI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
You are better off booking directly with a rail company. Trainline charge a fee on top of the fare (they've got to pay for their advertising somehow!).Even with a companion it might still be worth booking assistance, as that takes all of the stress away if you are not familiar with the journey, worrying about which platform to go to, etc.

If he will struggle on public transport, is patient transport services an option? The hospital should be able to advise.
going into and out of London doesn’t seem the easiest route, St Pancras to Marylebone won’t be easy.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I wonder if he might be better going back to Queen's Square Hospital and asking them to find him an appointment there, even if he has to wait a bit longer. That's a short taxi journey from St Pancras so it would be a lot less stressful for him.

Also the person he spoke to said my BIL had asked to change the appointment before which so they won't/can't change it but the hospital was the one that changed it but their booking system has it down he requested the change which is wrong.0
