MSE Poll: Do you have car breakdown cover?

As the weather gets colder, it becomes more likely that your car could break down on the road, or not start at all. If this happens, your compulsory car insurance won't help – you need a specific breakdown policy. So this week, we want to know if you've got one, and if so, which provider it's with, how you bought it and how much you pay.

rescue my car last years £11 , new renewal this year £27 ,so did a new quote £16 plus a couuple of quid cashback so saved around £13

I've had Green Flag cover for 30 years. For pretty much £1 per week it's so worth it for peace of mind. Over those years with older cars, I've been rescued long distance on a transporter 3 times, not towed at the back of a van like their competitors! I always renew online as it's cheaper but will always use GF as they offer such an amazing service.

I always buy my RAC breakdown cover with my Tesco Clubcard Vouchers which feels like free cover (though I know it isn't really)!

The "traditional" companies (AA, RAC, Green Flag etc) are no longer value for money.

Comparison sites (Confused.com etc) now compare Breakdown cover policies. I am with a reputable independent with a nationwide network AND home start for less than £30 per annum. I have used them in the past for when my car wouldn't start at home - arrived and fixed within an hour of the initial call.

The Poll is missing a section so I can't vote. My RAC cover comes with an annual service at the Nissan main dealer. They say it is free cover but we all know that means "included in the price of your service."
