Repeat prescriptions when moving house

Hello - I moved house at the end of October, and have successfully registered with a new GP (via their online portal). I have also downloaded and registered for the NHS App, however I cannot order my repeat prescription (or see a history of previous prescriptions).
Do I need to do anything else to get this sorted? I thought everything should be transferred over when I changed GPs. Will obviously speak to new GP when they open next week, but they are extremely hard to get hold of, so was hoping someone here can offer insight in the meantime.
Thanks. 😊

Were you using the app prior to the move? I would suggest that you'll start building the history once you next get your prescriptions. It's possible that even your new GP doesn't yet know what's on your medical records so you may have to talk them through what you need. Obviously as with many things with the NHS this all takes time so don't wait til the last moment.
Can't get my OH registered on an app for some reason so all his repeats need to be done by email. When you're talking to the surgery find out what their email address is so that you can send them all the details in case they don't have anything yet.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. No, I wasn't using the app before I moved. I thought it would make things easier, and assumed all my information would be on the app, regardless of where I was registered. I received an email from the new GP which said that I had successfully registered, so I thought my medical record had been moved over, but maybe the detail happens later??
Will definitely not leave it till last minute. 😬1 -
Regardless of how long you’ve been on your repeat medication, a new GP is likely to want to review it for themselves from a best practice point of view. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
You will need to make an appointment for a review. My GP surgery makes every new client have an appointment where they do a full MOT before any prescriptions or regular appointments are done1
