USS error

I received a recent retirement quote from the USS.  A month later they have sent an amended quote due to "an administration error part of the divorce deduction was incorrectly calculated."

The amendment of course, didn't go in my favour, although nothing too erroneous and is only minor.

I'm more worried about the process.  The divorce took place five years ago, so what sort of error could make a minor adjustment after an initial quote?

It kind of raises questions about the confidence one might have in the USS quotation process and getting things correct in the end.

I'm going to contact them, but does anyone have experience of similar, is there anything I should be looking at, any red flags to be aware of?

With thanks for any replies.

Ask them to be precise about that, which is the only way you are likely to regain any sort of confidence in the 'process' and the correctness of the final answer. The fact they picked it up within a month of sending the first quote indicates that someone was on the ball.
