Have done DMP but due small inheritance

Hi everyone,
I decided to go for the DMP that step change suggested and my monthly payment will be £119 down from £500pm on credit cards.
I told the person I spoke to that I may get a small inheritance of around £6k in spring next year and she said I may be able to settle my debts (just under £11k.) Does anyone have experience of doing this or offering it and having it refused?
thank you so much.

Excellent.
Start the dmp and post again* when the lump sum arrives. It will need to be held somewhere that isn't connected to your debts.
If you are on means tested benefits, be aware capital of over 6k will affect these

Don't involve Stepchange when it comes to settling the debts as they will want you to split the whole lot proportionally between everyone. If you approach them yourself and make an offer you'll probably be able to settle some of them for a lot less.1
