House marked up as Maisonette?

Hi, after checking neighbour's council tax bands, we discovered we're paying a lot more.  We've challenged the council previously only to be told we're under the correct band.  That said, we recently noticed on the house deeds our property is listed as a maisonette?! How this could be, I know not.  As far as I am aware it's never been a split property.  Does anyone have any idea how we can go about trying to resolve this?

The description on the deeds is not important, the VOA has no access to property deeds so they are not used in ascertaining CT bands. The Land Registry is now the main tool for property ownership details and as long as your home has an entry on there with you as owner, I don't think the deeds are needed anymore
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
