Good morning again,it's cold here.
Chrisca, I'm another one who is so grateful I don't have to go to work anymore.I know I'm usually up early still, but I don't have to go anywhere!
Derek, those clothes are amazing. I would agree with someone else who said hol back on the dry cleaning till you know more about the fabric.
We had our jabs yesterday, two, Covid and flu. I thought we were only having one. I have to have them both in one arm so it's a bit swollen and warm, painful as well, at the moment. However I know it'll ease off as the day goes over.
DH is back at the docs this morning, getting two dodgy looking patches of skin on his face checked out.
I have no fixed plans apart from making Christmas puddings, but there's always something to do.
Hope you got out for your lunch yesterday T A.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.12 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet. I'm with you and @Chrisca - it's so good to not have to get up in the cold dark mornings, even though I mostly do!The meeting last night went on far too long and then my drive home was horrendous. The fog was so thick and all enveloping it was scary. I don't have street lights for almost the whole journey, I ended up driving at about 20 miles per hour, especially nearer home. Of course, using main headlights didn't help. I was so glad to make it home and into bed. Before leaving the meeting I turned on my electric blanket via my phone so it was toasty, another happy moment.Earlier on the chap up the hill arrived to take away my lovely chair from the upstairs room. I was donating it to him as the new sofa is arriving next Wednesday, he was delighted by it. Then he brought in two big bags of logs from the barn so the living room is stocked up for a while. Burning only two logs at a time is very effective at saving me from getting too hot.My cleaner is coming this morning so I've been scooting around putting away things from off the coffee table etc.I'll go out whilst he's here so a little trip up to my favourite cafe seems on the cards.I hope that everyone can keep warm and safe. It's still very foggy outside so I have no idea how the day will go.11

I'm glad I'm not the only one enjoying not having to go out early to work any more! I got a new car a couple of months ago and noticed the other day that it has a heated steering wheel! Oh how I wish I had had that when having to get into a freezing cold car in the winter after scraping the ice off the windscreen to drive to work!

Morning, a chilly start but not as dull. Another one here whose glad not to be working anymore, although sometimes I do find it hard to fill my day.
Mehefin, those clothes are lovely. My Dmother wasn't much of a cook or homemaker, bless her, but she did the most exquisite needlework and embroidery. She made my christening gown and embroidered pillowslips and covers for my cot. Alas when she passed my brother dealt with her affairs and they have never been seen again.
Chap coming today to finish the gas work, so dog sitting for me. He hasn't given us a time as he's fitting us in as a favour, so hopefully we're not hanging around too long.
Better get ready incase hes early. Have a good day everyone whatever you're doing x9 -
Morning all
Feels very cold here but no rain which is something, the heating is now on timed on the thermostat and it came on this morning so it must be cold it’s toasty warm inside now though.
I am off to collect Rob today and take him to work in the cafe which he really enjoys, it’s a bit awkward with his mum atm as she (Rob) owes me over £70 for petrol and expenses and has done for over two weeks I have asked for it and she keeps saying she will get it but never does I will have to report it to the scheme if I don’t get it today.
Dinner tonight will be a jacket potatoes with various fillings, there is some chilli in the freezer which OH will probably have, cheese beans and or tuns mayo, it will use a few things up.
Shopping to do on the way home my own version of supermarket sweep 😂 I like to be in and out in 1/2 hr I can’t bear shopping.
Izzy hope you get your eyes sorted xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all
It’s been so nice to see sunshine the last few mornings after two weeks of grey, perhaps shouldn’t be too excited as cold weather forecast next week.Dentist today to fix another broken filling, he’s not that confident of whether it’ll last but give it a go. There’s plenty of craft work and chores for later if I feel like it.Take care all

Morning all, woke up to another bright start, clouding over a bit now, but my hands were freezing when I took BigDog out. We had to take another urine sample in at the vets to be tested for her after her infection, she rang back yesterday and said though it had improved there was still some bacteria present and has suggested more antib's, which we have to pick up today. I need to start the insurance claim off as the test & tablets are nearly £200 as well as the costs for the previous visit, She does seem a bit better though and hasn't had a wet bed for a few days ( sorry tmi ! ) saving me a lot of washing.More money to shell out later, heating engineer coming out as I found a radiator had been leaking for a while upstairs. He'll have to go in each room as the system will need to be drained, cue lots of tidyingWe had hm beef bourguinon last night, I need to start making some gaps in the freezer. It's full of little portions of leftovers.Lovely clothes Derek.RR, that does sound like an awkward conversation to be had with R mum. Hope you get paid.Izzy,ouch.I tend to have one watery eye, hope it improves soon.Right better get back to my chores, hope you all have a good day .:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning all
Thank you for the start Scarlet
Haven't posted recently as I'm feeling a bit down. Don't think the weather helps. It's pouring down at the moment, most days have been grey and damp. Find I really suffer with the cold now, didn't used to bother me, must be old age.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.9
