I've just lost a longish post and can't put it in again, so I'll just wish everyone a good day!

Morning all. Thanks to @Scarlet for starting us off. It's so annoying when a post slips away.I woke earlier, before I could fall asleep again I was riveted by the bright sparkly stars twinkly away in the clear black sky. Once I got really cold I went back to bed, contorted myself a little bit to keep watching. Nothing ever happens 😀 but still they hold me.Yesterday was definitely very slobby, too much rain and cold for going out. Eventually I ended up with the heated throw over me, first time this winter, and was very cosy. This morning I'm going to the exercise class, I'll take the big bag of recycling to the big dumpster in the car park. That's my whole plan so far.I hope everyone is warm and well.10

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Grr it's annoying when posts just vanish, never to be seen again. It's too dark to tell just yet but they are still forecasting a day of wall to wall sunshine for us. But it definitely feels a nippier start.
The day ran away with me yesterday and I didn't get round to posting. I had the usual supermarket sweep with DS, after the ceremony at the Cenotaph. Then late afternoon it was the DGDs choreographer competition at their dance school. Proud grandma alert coming up!! Youngest DGD (now 14) came top in the choreographing section (I needed my tissue!) and then after the musical interpretation she was awarded the shield for the best all rounder. The lady judging said she had been outstanding in both sections and must never ever give up dancing, she is so good. By then my tissue was soggy! Middle DGD, on the other hand, has never liked choreographing and only ever took part under sufferance!
Today I must resume the indoor window cleaning! Last week I only got as far as the downstairs ones. Then washing to sort out and numerous other mundane tasks. And the blooming dossett boxes are to fill again. I do 2 weeks at a time and those 2 weeks seem to fly by.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -

Good morning Scarlet and all who follow, that's so annoying about your post, I wonder what you had to tell us. Yes, I'm nosy.
TA, well done and congratulations to your dgd. I'm another one who has to have tissues ready, even the Christmas concert can set me off.
Dark and dull but sun promised today. Yesterday the sun came out for a while in the afternoon, everything looked so much brighter but then it clouded over and started to drizzle.
Some washing to do today but other than that no plans made, may meet a friend if she's not busy. The turkey drumstick yielded enough meat for yesterday and today, so tonight will be a stew/casserole served with garlic bread.
Love and hugs to our sad and poorlies, take care x9 -
Morning all
It feels very cold here but no rain due we are promised some sunshine later so fingers crossed 🤞 I have Rob coming today and we are meeting his friend and going to a garden centre which has a fabulous Christmas display we will get some lunch out assuming he has some money on him (he sometimes doesn’t which makes entertaining him quite hard )
Dinner tonight will be the leftover roast from yesterday so I just need to heat it through when I get home. I have a wash on the go and will hang it out before I leave.
TA well done to your talented GGD what a star xxx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning everyone
Nice blue sky here this morning - we're meant to have sunshine for a few days, which will be nice.
Little one stayed for a sleepover on Saturday and was here until almost teatime yesterday. On Saturday about 9pm there were fireworks right at the front of the house, she was up screaming as her bedroom is at the front.
I put her in my bed and just went to bed myself, but it took a while for her to settle.
Yesterday we went down to mam and dads in the morning, did lots of crafts, played doctors, cafes and lots of chat....a lovely day. We watched some of the service from the cenotaph while we had our lunch, lots of questions and the observation that 'if both sides kill each other, then that's a bit stupid really!'
TA congratulations to your granddaughter x
Izzy I'm doing quite well on Vinted just now, selling clothes little one has outgrown. My friend gave me the tip not to put everything on at once, but to keep adding something each day, which has helped. I tend to put things at 50p or £1 higher than I'd like to get, then people make an offer and think they're getting it a bit cheaper.
I bought a bundle of Barbie doll clothes for little one from Ebay yesterday, for her birthday. Something else I wish I'd kept from her mummy being her age - it's quite funny to see things listed as vintage, when I bought them 20 years ago!
Right I'd better make a move and get some jobs done, before it's time to go to work.
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all from Mehefinland.
Cold, dank, miserable - where's that promised sun?
Went to neighbour across road for a meal last night. He lives alone too so enjoyed some company. I took an apple pie which went down well. We sat and listened to his hifi afterwards - a top of the range job. The house was vibrating when we had some organ music on with the low notes - a very satisfying noise.
Same old stuff today but I have taken some vintage/antique clothing to my friend who has a friend who is an extremely good seamstress. The one item is a black mourning coat with lots of embroidery on the sleeves and upper shoulders, hook and eye fasteners and a black silk lining. Unfortunately the lining is brittle and degrading so we are seeing if it may be repairable. The second item is a full length wedding dress ( we think) with lots of hand made 'tattin', beading and jewels sewn into the bodice. We think it is taffeta or silk but it is so creased it is hard to say. The dress is watermarked with what looks like a floral motif within the ivory colouring. A good laundry may get the creases out with a steamer but I don't fancy trying it myself. I think it may have been Dawn's grandmothers, but equally it may not. The big problem is what to do with them. My gut feeling is to get them restored and donate them to a museum or suchlike, and I know that Gers suggested a theatrical outlet. I intend to send photos to the college of needlework and seek their advice .
lastly there is a christening gown which DS and Dawn were christened . It is silk with a Nottingham lace trim and the cutest embroidery on the bodice with minute stitches. It is a family heirloom and will stay on the off chance that it may be needed one day!
Hugs and spoons as always

Hi everyone,
Just reading with spot of hm mackerel pate for lunch. I'm working with a functional nutritionist to try to sort my stomach out so I'm trying to eat more oily fish as per instructions. I must admit things seem to be improving slowly, I improved after stopping the medication which caused the problem but after 6 months I seemed to have reached a plateau and have now started moving again. It would be lovely to have Christmas without worrying if I'm able to eat.
TA, I don't blame you for being tearful. I fill my pill boxes every four weeks but that seems to come round very quickly.
Mehefin, those garments sound beautiful, I hope you can get them sorted.
We had Esben's birthday party on Saturday which went off well but left us with a storage problem again. It was lovely seeing Nate with the two of them, they play together so well now and he and Esther look like twins, they both have very blonde hair and similar features and are the same height despite Nate being 3 months older.
I'm by myself and trying to sort out the chaos left over from the weekend before nipping out for some shopping.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all,
I haven’t posted in a few weeks as have been busy packing up the house for our move next Monday. Also still working in the office full time, so the majority of fun things like tip runs and CS drop offs have fallen to DH! We are getting there with the packing but it’s been quite emotional after 20 years in the same place. Needs must though, and new adventures await.
Glad to hear @dp1’s DGD is back to school x
Congrats to @TravellingAbuela’s youngest DGD on the awards. What a star!
I’m loving the sound of the golden syrup cake @WickedLady4 – please PM me the recipe if you can xx
The vintage clothing sounds exquisite @Mehefin, I hope you find a good home for it x
Glad the birthday celebrations went off well @snoozer x
Have a good day all.
Coxy xx
