Selling to CEX

I can't find a more relevant section to post this in but does anyone have experience selling to CEX? I brought an item into their store which they told me was cosmetically a grade B. I couldn't wait 40 minutes for them to test it on the day so I opted for the "Drop & Go" service on the website and brought it into a different CEX store. This time I had to contact customer service as I had no communication only to be told it is thought to be Grade C at that store?

They mentioned that it has scratches, but there were only one or two. I can't help but think they are trying it on. Has anyone been in this situation with them? I could bring it to the first store but I don't know if it works like that.

  • I bought and sold a number of times.  I have sold items that were A grade with no problems and some B grade things too.  One tablet they didn't accept as it had a small crack on the screen which I wasn't originally aware of.  Always been happy with their service.

I have purchased one item from them which turned out to be not as advertised.  I was purchased what was advertised as an XL mouse but it turned out on receipt to be a L one.  Given that this cost me £10 and the size difference turned out to be minimal I decided to keep it but the process they had started when I logged a complaint seemed to be quite good and it seems they would have given a complete refund for the error.  I'll order from them again should they ever say they get the XL in stock.  Especially at £10 as other sites selling these as new charge over £100 so a bargain.

  • It was actually a phone but I thought someone in this forum might know as my brother-in-law sells games to them. In fact I went to another CEX stpre and they graded the same phone as B. I got £15 more for it than I would have. I can't say the guy in the first shop was wrong. He might have been a perfectionist or just wanted to make more money. Who knows?
