DWP use a translators fro an outside service.
. As the International Pension  Centre is part of DWP then a translator can be requested.

Thanks again everyone for your help.

Let's say my father comes back to the UK (i.e. he doesn't apply for his pension abroad) and moves in to a rental property. Would he be able to contact the DWP and ask them send the invitation code to that address?

I can't see why you would want or need to go to such lengths, when a phone call would probably move things forward.  Sometimes one can over-think things

I understand that, however I am just trying to weigh up two possible scenarios here. There is a likelihood that he may decide to come back to the UK in the coming months - in which case it would probably be lass hassle if he applies here - assuming the DWP can re-issue the invitation code. Do you know if that's possible?

They are not going to say "you've not got the code so tough, no pension" are they, if a code is needed they will sort out a new one as described in the on line information.  The code is only needed to claim on line from UK anyway, you can also claim by phone or with a paper form. As above, you really are over thinking this and finding obstacles that aren't really there.

Also, the code is only needed, so far as I know, to apply online.  A call to DWP should enable the claim to be made.

Appreciate the help so far guys. It's a complex family situation, hence the reason why I'm exploring different scenarios.

I'm trying to persuade my father to come back to the UK. If indeed he does come back, will he able to claim his pension right away? Or will he first need to inform the DWP of his new address and get verified, etc?
