Is it worth paying into a pension anymore?

The whole contribution results in some tax relief. I'm meaning that's on top of the 'free money', ie you'd likely take the free money even if there was no tax relief on your own contributions.0

The key point from me is that the OP might not have the scope for healthy pension contributions right now, esp as they mentioned cost of living. Just reading between the lines a bit, as very little detail is disclosed. However there are a few things that would ordinarily be prioritised over pension contributions, eg priority debts themselves, high interest liabilities, emergency fund.1

Loads of answers - but none from OP (yet) on some fairly key considerations such as age, employment status etc. Not much point trying to reply further until they respond.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!3

PPOV I think this question arises due to the added benefits that are given out to those that do nothing for themselves, thus “what is the point?”. If the State Pension was brought up to a living wage for every pensioner, without the extras that are given out, then there is the encouragement to save extra into pensions, to make life in retirement even more comfortable than on a decent SP rate.Paddle No 21:wave:0
