Persistent Debt at 36 Months - Does a payment still count?

Through my own fault of things getting on top of me I've hit the magical 36 months point with an M&S credit card. I've been offered either a payment plan or a personal loan, none of which I want to do.
I have some money that will enable me to make an extra payment that before the 36 months would have got me out of persistent debt. Does this still count once the 36 months has passed and reset the timer?
I'm aware I can ask when I call but I struggle with anxiety on the phone and like to know expected answers before I speak.
Apologies if this should have been in the credit card forum. Wasn't sure!

How much money have you been left and what is the balance? What are the payment plan and personal options you have been offered, and have you rejected these as being unaffordable or what?0

Thanks for the reply. I don't have any details yet as I haven't spoken to them. I want to still have the card available to me ideally so want to know if a single payment will take the card out of persistent debt rather than it being suspended.ManyWays said:How much money have you been left and what is the balance?
