Multiple BTL mortgage applications

Hi there
Can you do multiple applications at the same time and if so how does this work? Situation would be say you had a BTL property already. Look to release equity from this to purchase 1/2/3 new ones depending on costs etc...
Would you do the remortgage first and then do the next applications for the purchases - if so can you do these all at the same time as each other and would the details of the other applications need to be included in the others as if they are already in place? I am aware a broker can sort and they will I just want to understand how it would work - OR if you just do one at time? Can you do the remo and purchase/s at the same time - how is it best to do this as I'm sure having background properties in progress would need to be included.
