Low/no fat and like w salt recipes

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can buy any recipe books or any recommendations for cook books or any help with low/no fat and low salt recipes please..

Hope this makes sense appreciate any help in advance

    Low salt really is how you adapt a recipe to be honest by not adding salt and not eating processed foods with added salt. 

    Low fat,  is really picking lean meats and fresh veg ie chicken breasts, venison, lean mince, turkey, lean fish. 
    Grill, bake or poach instead of frying 

    I am sure people will come back with some book recommendations but to be honest most things can easily be adapted

    I have found one of the main things to watch when wanting to lower something whether sugar, salt or fat, is to check that when a product lowers they don't significantly increase another as that seems to be the normal route.  Unfortunately buying ready made if trying to avoid anything is rarely the answer.

    Thanks for your reply. We don't buy ready made meals as we are well aware of how bad they are health wise.

    Pretty much second this. If you cook all your meals from scratch it's easy to control the macros/salt to how you want.

    My wife and I you could consider to be health enthusiasts and eat low fat/low salt by default, but I certainly don't feel restricted in our diet. Today we made a roast (incl air fried veg with spray oil), yesterday we had pizza (made ourselves with wraps instead of bases), day before we had spag bol.

    Two almost cheat codes I'd completely recommend are the spray oils (oil is basically pure fat, and it's very easy to add hundreds of calories in fat to a meal with just one or two casual glugs from a bottle, so this helps you stay limit your usage) and eatlean cheese (they sell it in tesco and asda - cheese is typically very high in fat and this means you can keep cheese on the menu, though it tastes like a weak mild cheddar and isn't as creamy as normal cheese).

    Virtually any recipe can be adapted to be low fat if you're sensible with the ingredients - e.g. buying 5% fat mince, going for plain fish or lightly dusted instead of battered, choosing chicken breasts over thighs or drumsticks, etc.

    One thing you may already be aware of - leaner meats are virtually always more expensive.
