Inheritance Tax/Estate Planning

Anyone else think it would be timely to have a board/sub-board?
I had a quick look and it’s not in the original scope of this board or the Deaths, Funerals and Probate board. It is in scope of Cutting Tax, but the last dedicated thread there started in 2007. Currently there is an overlap with pensions as bringing these in scope of IHT is generating discussion, and many people are considering evasive action which will involve accessing a DC pension or SIPP.

I asked @MallyGirl, in her role as Senior Forum Ambassador, if this might be considered - and she'd already had the same thought and is progressing with the powers that be.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!4 -
Hi all - can confirm @MallyGirl had raised this with the Forum Team - please do keep your thoughts coming on whether a dedicated board might be desirable (and if so, what might be a good name for it) - we'll see how the dust settles in the immediate aftermath of the Budget but if it looks like there's an ongoing need for a separate board then it's certainly possible.
We can also look at updating the descriptions for existing boards to make clearer where certain types of question are best raised - again, suggestions always welcomeOfficial MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com1 -
Personally, I don't think any further splitting of the pension forum is necessary. Its not a particularly busy section and previous splits ended up being closed due to lack of posts or the regulars who would normally answer most of the questions not looking in the subforum and posts not getting answers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1

Trust queries have been cropping up all over the place ( Savings, Pensions, Deaths & Probate, as well as Cutting Tax).
A dedicated Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning board would seem to be a more logical home for people with questions in this area, and maybe avoid clogging up the other boards people have been using thus far?
Certainly I have seen trusts and iht planning queries cropping up with increasing frequency and responses to those queries ( within a dedicated board) could benefit others who ( for example) have no reason to visit the Pensions board.
Certainly an increase in general Estate planning queries seems more than likely given the IHT hit on pensions.4
