Pickled onions for Christmas!

Posting this in here after not many comments in the 'I want it' forum. Always a good idea to try Old Style!
I'm a great fan of pickled onions and used to make my own. Unfortunately illness has meant that I haven't been able to make any for a few years now and I'm reliant on the commercially-available ones.
Can anyone recommend from personal experience any really good ones... by which I mean crunchy and sweet? I seem to find little other than mushy and sour/bitter ones.

What's the ones in the clear jar with the simple printed on writing rather than a label? They're nice and I'm not a big fan of those kind of pickled onions. I like the tiddly ones to put in my gimlet!!!
FiL used to make his own but discovered at one point that it cost more to buy the vinegar than to actually buy the onions when he wanted them. MiL was very happy about this as it took up a lot less space and FiL didn't destroy the kitchen in the process. We’re currently in pickled red cabbage season, Nigella’s Pickled Red Cabbage is nicer than anything you can buy and you don’t need to make a huge batch, just one 0.75 L Kilner/Mason jar. The only leftover is part of a bottle of cider and somehow OH always manages to force this down!Fashion on the Ration

£3.40 for a 454gm jar at Asda, cheapest I could find. Maybe 8 - 10 onions?? Wow... clearly I have expensive tastes!1 -
Gold, Frankincense, and pickled onions! Original!1

My suggestion would have been Garners, albeit they aren't cheap.
Last two years we've bought from a local selling at their drive, first years were marvellous last years not so good - he admitted some had been the previous years 🤢! Perhaps ask on a local Facebook group if anyone is selling homemade ones?
Failing that try your local farm shop, I'm not a fan of the Drivers ones mentioned on your other thread.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Are there any farmer markets near you?

I'm not a huge fan of pickled onions, but if I buy them I get them from m and s. The traditional ones. Looking at the ocado reviews, they do get good reviews and are available in smaller jars.

I tend to go with, what was haywards, is now Sarsons sweet pickled onions, smaller ones.

The best pickled onions and Gherkins are from Tate’s gardening centres. They are crisp and. Large jar. They are so popular thst they stock them all year round. We buy them regularly and highly recommend you try them. They keep for a long time and I put them in the fridge when opened. Enjoy your Christmas.2

I saw some in Lidl the other day - both silverskins in white vinegar and larger ones in brown. The latter looked like golf balls, and not liable to mushing. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
