Stupid error payment to nco

I have a payment plan with nco for £20 a month to repay old credit card debt.
balance is approx £229. Yesterday I stupidly in a rush made my monthly payment but instead of paying £20 I paid the full balance as it didn’t go through the first time I tried again and it had reverted back to pay full balance which I never realised till payment had gone.
I have emailed nco as I didn’t have time to ring them yesterday before their office closed as out all day and no time to make a phone call.
just wondering if anyone had any luck with getting money back in similar circumstances, I’ll have to suck it up if I can’t as my own fault for rushing at it on my way out the door.
thanks in advance

I doubt you're going to get this back.
You need to be extra careful when making digital payments. I've nearly paid 100 x the amount by accidentally missing the 'point'.1 -
Ironically if I was going to pay the full balance I would have asked for a settlement figure?0

That is very annoying but it has been paid now and there is no reason why NCO should refund any of it.
This is one reason why it is better to set up a standing order for regular payments to prevent errors.1 -
That does sound annoying, I hope it hasn't left you too short this month. On the more positive side, congrats on paying off a debt early!Debt Pay-off

Indeed, you should always pay DCAs by standing order. Errors are still possible but it gives you a bit longer to spot the wrong amount in your banking app.
