I'm not sure if this is an "allowed" post, I hope so. Posting without agenda, just curious as some people obviously are from their knowledge, maybe some others are just very clued up citizens.
This doesn't require saying, but I'm not.

I was always under the impression that IFAs on this forum put it in their signature. The rest of us are just mere mortals.

It used to be a board rule that those in the profession in the sections they post in should state their status in their signature. Plus, in the case of financial services, regulated individuals are recommended to have a compliance message to protect them (my sig came from what the PIA recommended I use)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.7

As far as I know there are only two more in addition to Dunstonh, both of whom declare themselves.
Clearly there also a handful who have some professional/work related expertise in the area.
But think most are just 'self taught' to varying different levels, often learning a lot of it from the forum itself.3 -

I think there are a few more than that, but probably only a handful of us or so.
