Need mortgage help!!!

So...a small bit of background, living in northern ireland but my income comes from ROI and I'm paid in euros.
I have some adverse dating back to 4 years and 3 months ago (most recent), and almost 5 years (oldest). Adverse is 4 defaults (all satisfied). Other than this I have never never missed a payment etc, and my credit from the last four years is squeaky clean.
My wife's credit is excellent and always has been.
We had been toying with the idea of selling our current property and moving earlier in the year, our broker sent both of our credit files to a contact in natwest who came back and said "now may not be the right time, come back in October", this was due to one of the defaults not having been satisfied a full year yet.
So basically my question is, should we take this with a pinch of salt that "now is the right time because we waited until october". Just don't want to get our hopes up.
We would consider adverse lenders if needs be but unfortunately it seems non of them accept foreign income (euros)

NatWest will run an auto credit score anyway so you have little to lose by giving it a go.I am a Mortgage Broker
