Why do you think having 35 years is important?

It may be sufficient to reach £221.20/week but have you actually checked that on gov.uk?

yes i have checked online and i am at the max pension   which is £221.20.   continuing to pay class 2 isn’t going to affect my pension so i will be wasting £ to voluntary contribute when i have exceeeed max qualifying years

Some people are misled by the Forecast box - just double checking you see these words (mine took 36 years)
£221.20 is the most you can get
You cannot improve your forecast any more.

Then you would only have to pay Class 2 NI if it was mandatory.

Which it could be for 2023-24 for some people but 2024-25 onwards it's only ever voluntary.

The clue is in this word: voluntary.
