Waves to Cherryfudge - I have a feeling it was more a cumulative effect than just this particular week! It's also not great at work as our redundancies have started and good friends have been let go so it's all taking it's toll! - OH has just started his 2nd round of treatments - it lasts another 3 months - so another 11.5 weeks to go before the next evaluation. The tests & scans showed things going in the correct direction but it's hard for me to see him so weak and emaciated.

It must be incredibly hard for you, seeing him losing weight, though the 'going in the right direction' helps. Especially exhausting when you have your own things to deal with as well. I hope that bit of extra rest has done you good.

@Cherryfudge & @beanielou - awww - thanks both for the support - I think the new expression is "I'm not going to lie…" it's been a super hard few weeks. Sleep is my current best friend, but I'm not doing well there wrt quality! - normally I do a solid 6 hours of sleep (7 hours in bed) - but tossing and turning, the tracker is warning me that I'm getting closer to 5 with very low 'readiness' each day so I'm not recovering well. Hey-ho what can we do - life can be a roller-coaster at times.

It can indeed. Sending hugs.
A small reframe FWIW - at least you are getting sleep and when not sleeping, a certain amount of rest.

@Cherryfudge - yes very true, sleeping and resting as best as I can!
So today has been fairly distracted - too many fellow Cunucks both here and across the pond messaging about the hockey finals in the Olympics! Women's gold tonight & Men's semi tomorrow.
I'm going to keep doing my usual while OH channels his inner maple leaf - juggling the numbers - shifting around money - blah blah blah 🤣🤣🤣4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Life is indeed a roller coaster, and, particularly so when facing what you and OH are dealing with Sending love.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
@Watty1 - aww - thank-you hunny - love is always appreciated
So rather than just allude to the rollar coaster, I'll try to put the redacted version below…
We've had the most stressful experience with our local council this week. Some well-meaning busy body (who shall for now remain nameless) contacted the council to say we needed assistance! Let's just say angry words were exchanged with two of the council's teams who put 2 & 2 together to make 40.
I also pointed out that as an individual who is employed full time, despite being legally disabled with a chronic condition, has a home, a mortgage and personal financial assets that we are not in need of their assistance nor qualified for it if we did request it. Believe me, I've already looked into what's available given that OH paid into the social system via his taxes for over 45 years. As an employed taxpayer I don't qualify for handouts of any sort and am quite capable of sourcing an at home nurse should OH feel he does not want to check into the hospice for his final days.
Could my kitchen floor do with a scrub - yes - is it going to sparkle this week - no - do I care? - no - why? - because my limited energy has been channeled into doing laundry and having a sparkling bathroom and clean bedsheets - is my paperwork in a pile on the end of the sofa? - yes! - does it matter? - no! - could my back garden do with a tidy? yes - does it affect anyone other than us - no! - we are fed, we are watered & I still have a job which means OH can have private treatment. - SIGH SIGH SIGH
Why do busy bodies presume that because you choose to live a simple frugal life, and choose to die with dignity in your own home, that you need assistance or are being neglected or abused. F**king busybody has now been reported to their manager - I am seriously regretting living in a small-town environment! - There is honestly only one brain-cell at the council and the interfering b@$t@rd I spoke with yesterday didn't have use of it until I requested both the GPDR request form and the complaint form. Honestly I do not need the extra admin & I'm considering getting a lawyer to handle this.
OH who does not need the extra stress, came very close to deciding to choose to stop his treatment and check into the hospice to end his days. Lots of tears ensued from both of us - I respect whatever his decision is but not off the back of being bullied by a council employee - we do not need this stress in our home!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
