Good morning
Thank you for the start Gers
Looks like it's going to be a dry day. Going on walk and talk this morning. Don't really feel like it but it'll probably be okay once I get there.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. A day of no sun forecast for us - but at least no rain and still feeling mild.
Yesterday's outage mid Budget was explained in a text from Powergen once power was restored. It had affected 546 homes and happened because a kite had become tangled onto one of their overhead lines!
Today is supposed to be lunch day with DF but, as usual, this will be confirmed once her DH gets up. He got the result of the brain scan yesterday - normal! So she has yet to pass go with a diagnosis of his irrational behavior.
DD and youngest DGD have been at the caravan this week, shutting all down and putting stuff away for the winter. Just the boiler etc to turn off and she doesn't trust herself with that, so her DP will see to that this w/e. It seems a long time now until the site re-opens on 1st March. Maybe next summer will be a nicer one for our stays there - but probably not!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up or sad. Take care all stay safe xx

Good morning Gers and all who follow. Dull here at present but forecast sunny spells later. Yesterday was overcast all day, so much so that lights were on in the afternoon.
I kind of sorted out the tins cupboard, 6 tins of butter beans anyone? Various tins of soup purchased in lockdown in case we were ill and didn't want to eat. I'm thinking I'll use them up as a base for casseroles. I watched Nadiya make a sloppy Joe's sauce using tomato soup, so I can't take the credit for that idea.
Dinner tonight will either be sausages and mash or pork chops, tbd later. If I get my mojo going I'll make some mince pies while the ovens on with the half jar of mincemeat.
TA, we used to have a caravan and I agree it seemed so far off until the site reopened but soon came around. Hope you get to meet your friend.
SO, hope you enjoy your walk and talk, sometimes thinking about it can put you off.
Take care all x

Morning all. Foggy and damp so far. I got up thinking it was quite late, nope, seven o clock...I forgot about it being lighter in the mornings
The builders have left the building until the new kitchen comes which will be a couple of weeks, there'll be the odd visit from various people but that means I am free now with only normal appointments which means I can start clearing things and sorting out the allotment. Gently for now since the lurgy is still hanging on. OH has a schedule of works he wants to get going so we'll see what happens next. For now, I'm going to be begging, borrowing and acquiring all the free stuff I can in terms of wood, leaves, cardboard etc.
SO, it's one of them things isn't it, you know you'll feel better, but it's the thought of oging...but i will say, that things don't change by doing the same things, so if you do want them to change, you've got to do different things. Something I tell myself regularlyGers, the show sounded fab, glad you enjoyed! TA, how annoying, but I suppose it's better than leaves on a track
dp1, the kimono ehibition sounds great, i love fabric exhitibtions, the American Museum in Bath has some ovely quilts, dolls etc and I've been to a couple of Kaffe Fasset ones there, so colourful. Especially when they decorated the big tree outside with lampshades. nanny, hope your pains have eased off! snoozer, glad Operation Laura and Esther has succeeded! Izzy, go on, go to York for a day , you know you'll enjoy it
Scarlet, i do the same with FB reels. I save recipes, then don't make them, then start looking through them and I'm there forever...remmie, I thought I'd give using soups as a sauce a go too, seems an American thing to do for what they call casseroles. Let me know how yours works out. Chris, hope the skies were clear last night for your OH. Allie, enjoy the break! Rosy, hope he enjoyed the football talk
Ruby, cheese scones...oooo...nom nom.. Take care all, hope you're all doing well, go make some scones, you know you'll like them! [except Gers

Wow, I did not realise the first time we went was ten years ago!I'm not sure whether this is what prompted my friend to make her hanging pom pom basket outside her house...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

I really did post earlier this morning, it seems to have disappeared. 😠Long post short - I have a nail appointment at lunch time and then will faff about with the monthly spreadsheet. About three weeks ago I gave up recording all my spending, it was becoming a chore which I didn't need or enjoy! Now I'm much more relaxed, still watching the pennies, just now obsessing over them.Dishwasher has been emptied, two coffees drunk and it's time to do some moving.Hugs to poorlies.11

Morning everyone I’ve popped out for bread before I go to a cleaning job and it’s like a summers day sun’s shining and it’s so mild long may it last . TAFF the pictures are lovely how unusual I know what you mean about fabrics we have had a couple of exhibitions at the Bowes museum that we’re brilliant but then I go into shops that sell BIBA just to look at them obviously I will never fit into them but I can dream I’m the same with shoes love them . SO enjoy your walk I know it’s out of your comfort zone and it’s hard but it will get easier. GERS I’m another one trying to watch the pennies I really need to bump my savings up . Must dash thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning allJust back from my Friday shop a day early as I've got the dentist tomorrow and won't feel like going shopping after as I would imagine they will have to do some mining to get what's left of my tooth out. Not looking forward to it one bit but needs must.Managed to put DH's telescope together but he didn't have one of the weights screwed in properly and it fell on the wooden floor causing a dent! Not a happy bunny. Think it will take some reading to work out how to use it properly but the next clear night should see how well it works. It was too cloudy last night.Calm and mild outside so might do a little bit in the garden.Take care all x8

Good afternoon from a sunny Mehefinland
What a pleasant change from yesterday when I didn't see the sun all day. Spent the last 3 hours clearing out some of the junk and manky hay that was still in the barn from year dot. Most of it had rotted and the pallets it was on had disintegrated too. A messy time consuming job. There must have been a colony of rodents at some point as there was absolutely loads of shredded plastic (bags, sweet papers, crisp bags etc. ) It has all gone in a bin and will go to the tip along with several old horserugs in the next few days. The place looks much better now. Not finished but run out of puff for today. Just need to have a bonfire when the wind changes away from the houses, and the put put planes have stopped flying for the day. Maybe later if I'm lucky. At least there is no rain forecast although it was quite foggy here first thing The grass certainly has not dried out yet.
Isn't it funny how the 'tradesmen' knock the door when they are 'working just down the road'. The latest one was do I want the trees cutting back? No. They can be quite persistent on occasions. Dawn used to get really shirty and say wicked words lol. You ask them for their insurance details and they soon beat a hasty retreat as a rule. The genuine ones are happy to give you all the information you require .I have a tame tree surgeon to do anything like that who I have used several times, and on a very tricky ash removal which was overhanging a neighbour's house. had die back and had to go anyway but to remove it safely was not an easy or straightforward job. Even now I shudder to think what it cost. But the alternative was even worse. Did get some logs out of it though. I counted the growth rings after the deed had been done and gave up at 100.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek11
