  • Great thanks for that hun xx
  • Jacks - The two credit cards are 0% for 9 months, so I guess I should have added abit of interst to cover the end of the year, but I thought I would just move them again (but I haven't added the balance transfer charges :-/)

The catalogue is 0% as long as I keep up with the payments.

I also did'nt add on the overdraft % charges, but I will pay that first.

So I don't know what difference that would make, probably quite abit knowing my luck :-(

Just wanted to add that loads of people on here get Mr T to deliver, as it saves all of those 'ooh, look at that' bits you throw in the trolley as you're going round...but as Jacks suggests, there are usually voucher codes you can find to cover the delivery!

We recently got rid of Sky after a lot of negociating with my husband regarding the sports channels. As a Christmas present I agreed to get him Setanta Sports - although it does not show as many matches etc I thought it was a good compromise. We did it for the pc and it was only £7.99 a month and you are not tied in to a contract. He seems pleased with it and better still you can rerun matches at a later date (I think it stores the last 3 months) and I get to watch what I like on the TV.

    Good luck anyway!

Well, I have been more than a bit rubbish at keeping up with my debt diary :o , considering my last post was the beginning of January.

I thought I ought to record my progress so far -

Since January I have wiped out our £2500 overdraft which was maxed out. :j
I have gotten three jobs, I am usually just looking after the kiddies, but now I clean the local village hall, once a week for £120 per month.
I am doing some outwork for a local printing firm for about £120 per month and I am doing two nightshifts per week at Sainsburys, this will work out to be around £250 per month, so I feel loads better for contributiing something to the household, even though I am absolutely knackered, its only short-term-ish
Cut down weekly shop from £150 to £50 maximum.
Cancelled milkman delivery that was costing me twice the amount as the supermarket.
Made my own washing powder and homemade household cleaners
Sold tonnes of stuff on Ebay & books on Amazon
Generally stopped spending on misc rubbish everytime I went out.
Have stopped taking the children to softplay places twice a week which used to cost £10 per time, if you include cups of tea and snack for the kids, we now go for a walk to the park etc

I have set up standing orders to my 3yr old and 1year olds bank accounts of £10 per week, by the end of the year they should have £400 each. This is to cover for Birthday parties, birthday & christmas presents for them.

I also have a £5 per week standing order to a Christmas saving account to pay for at least Christmas dinner and any other bits.

I have been abit naughty on buying the odd thing for my new lifestyle - I bought a breadmaker, but this does save me alot of money in the end as we were spending over £30 per month on loaves from the shops.
I have also bought a sewing machine, to make some homemade gifts and some clothes for the kids, so I hope not a total waste of money.

Well thats it guys.....I am working on paying off one of my credit cards now and hope to do that by June. I think the total is £1700, gonna be tight but will try my hardest.

It certainly takes alot longer to get out of debt, than it does to get in it
