I have been paying off NI gaos for my wife over last few years.
It normally goes online but this year seems late?
For tax year 2023/2024 online it still shows as payment amount not available yet.

HMRC seem to be even further behind than ususal this year. My tax is dealt with by simple assessment (which means they won't allow me to file self assessment) and the "bill" normally arrives in July. Almost November & there is still no sign. I even spoke to the simple assessment line & they say there is nothing showing on my account. I wish I could access my gateway account to check for myself but that is a whole other problem.

My 2023/24 was similar and as I will submit my pension claim at the end of next month I wanted to ensure my NI record is up-to-date before DWP start crunching the numbers.
I used HMRC's online chat rather than calling. I was given an 18-digit number to pay 2023/24 as I could not use the new functionality online before the year showed as updated and the officer said my record should update within 2 weeks of paying, which, surprisingly, it did.
Perhaps an online chat will move things forward?2 -

I have just reached Pension Age and checked my Pension Forecast on Gov Gateway . It told me that I have big gaps in my NI Contributions that needed filling if I was to get the Basic State Pension . A total of £ 7700 ! If I pay this amount , is it worth for getting the £ 169.80 Basic State Pension ? Or is it better investing this sum on another saving or Private Pension scheme ?
Any suggestions from experience ? Any ideas ? Thanks0 -
I have just reached Pension Age
Presumably you mean state pension age - if so, you will not be receiving the Basic State Pension.
Only those who reached SPA under the old scheme (ie before 6/4/16) receive this.
The New State Pension is for post 6/4/16 retirees.
